Foreign and Commonwealth Office
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is the UK government department responsible for promoting British interests overseas and supporting our citizens and businesses around the globe.
The Chevening Scholarship programme, which has run for the last 26 years, has been the flagship scholarship scheme of the British Government, offering awards annually in over 130 countries on the basis of an open competition. The programme has supported around 1000 individuals from across the world each year to study in the UK. Following the UK Government's Spending Review for 2011-2015, plans for Chevening Scholarships have now been restructured, and interested students can visit the Chevening website for updated information.
