Public Health in Cambridge and India
The Cambridge Commonwealth Trust has just reached a new agreement to co-fund a PhD scholarship scheme with the Public Health Foundation of India, which in turn receives a grant from the Wellcome Trust to sponsor selected students to study in the UK with the aim of developing faculty at PHFI.
Under this scheme, Indian PhD students in the field of Public Health will spend the first and last years of their doctorate in Cambridge, but will carry out their research in India at PHFI Institutes.
The Trusts have always had strong links with the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, with twenty Scholars studying there this year.
