Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Lectures available online
A unique archive of lectures on India is now available to read online. The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Trust Lectures, which have been taking place since 1966, can be viewed here on the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust's website.
There are thirty lectures to date, and topics range from Nehru’s impact on the development of his country, to entrepreneurship and the media in modern India. The speakers include prominent Indian and British politicians, artists and business people, as well as HRH Prince Hassan of Jordan and Professor Linda Colley.
The 2010 lecture will take place on Wednesday 24 November at 6.30pm at Chatham House in London. Entitled ‘Britain, Gandhi and Nehru’, it will be given by Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and himself a former Governor of West Bengal.
